Chester and Sheila Mortensen moved to the area in 1972 from the lower mainland. The hustle and bustle of the city seemed to be too much and they decided to head to the interior for business opportunities. Chester was the first glass journeyman in the area. They chose Williams Lake because of the need for a glass shop service here. In 1985 Lake City Glass Ltd. was established and it has grown into the company that it is today. Their sons, Clayton and Byron have followed in their father's footsteps and have been certified in several different areas of the business.

It was with great sadness we said a final good-bye to Sheila Mortensen in 2019. After more than 34 years of commitment to Lake City Glass, she certainly left a mark in the business. Shortly after the passing of his beloved wife and business partner, Chester decided to sell the business to Dwaine Dilworth and Allan Fox in December of 2019. Dwaine and Allan are veterans to the glass industry, with sister shops in Prince George, Dawson Creek and Grand Prairie.

Dwaine and Allan are humbly appreciative and looking forward to building on the wonderful business Chester and Sheila established. Chester's son, Clayton Mortensen is still a valued employee and we are extremely thankful for his expertise.
